Tender Trap

As I have explained in my "Foreword" to this Blog, published in 28º February, and deleted by mistake, I didnt really intend to create a Blog. I was only trying to post a comment at the wonderful Vitriolica Webb's ite (http://unkemptwomen.blogspot.com).
The name "tender trap" occur's me when I was listening the homonimous jazz standards CD recorded recently by Marta Hugon (www.martahugon.com).

"Os Lusiadas"; Canto I: 1,2

As armas e os barões assinalados
Que, da Ocidental praia Lusitana,
Por mares nunca dantes navegados
Passaram ainda para além da Taprobana
Em perigos e guerras esforçados
Mais do que prometia a força humana,
E entre gente remota edificaram
Novo Reino, que tanto sublimaram;

E também as memórias gloriosas
Daqueles Reis que foram que foram dilatando
A Fé, o Império, e as terras viciosas
De África e de Ásia andaram devastando,
E aqueles que por obras valorosas
Se vão da lei da Morte libertando:
Cantando espalharei por toda a parte,
Se a tanto me ajudar o engenho e arte.
